SOLD!

Many of you have asked about it over the past 21 months, so I am happy to finally be able to share the news that we sold our old house! The new owners needed to close today, earlier than planned, so we still have a few projects that we had agreed to that have to be completed by next week. It has been a very stressful couple of weeks as we rushed to get the jam-packed garage & attic emptied, along with arranging for some minor projects to be completed. And the timing just happens to fall when we're leaving town tomorrow for the next 8 days, which has made everything a little more challenging. So we haven't exactly been able to celebrate yet, but hopefully by next weekend everything will be completed & we will be able to relax and finally breathe a sigh of relief that we no longer have this hanging over our heads!

Grandpa Steve & Grandma Nancy

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend!! I think Grandpa & Grandma & Filson hit about every spot in Wilmington. We heard about time at the beach, a car show, playing at the train table, shopping & eating out among other things. We are so happy they made the trip out to spend some time with the Little Guy. John & I also appreciated all the extra help with projects around the house! We all miss them already, but at least we won't have to wait long as they already have tickets to come back the first week of July to spend more time with Filson & meet Peanut #2!

Bald Head Island

These are a few shots from our weekend on Bald Head. It is a very pretty island that is only accessible by ferry where golf carts & bikes are the modes of transportation. With just a handful of shops & restaurants, you really go there just to enjoy the peace & quiet. We spent our time exploring the plants & wildlife, climbing up Old Baldy Lighthouse, kayaking and cruising the island on our cart looking at all the gorgeous homes. We had to snap a picture of the croquet field at "the club". The first time we pulled up we were both laughing at all the retirees in their whites, it looked like it was straight out of a movie! John also spotted this big alligator from the road that was sunning itself on the golf course. We had a really nice weekend and know that Grandpa, Grandma & Filson were having just as good of a time back in Wilmington!

Fun with Friends

Wednesday I woke up & said goodbye to the 20s! Turning 30 couldn't get too exciting being 7 mths pregnant, but it was so great to have Anna Leigh come down to help me celebrate. We packed up the kids & headed to the Farmer's Market & then cruised through some shops. In the evening we went down to the beach to get pictures of Filson & Vada enjoying the sand & surfers and then shopped a little more. It was a really great day, made even better by the amazing Banana Split dessert she had made for me, my favorite treat her mom used to make all the time when we were growing up! It has been a fun couple of days being able to watch Vada & Filson interact with each other. He will really miss her when she is gone! However, he will have some new entertainment this week as my parents arrived from Iowa late last night. The Little Munchkin will get almost a week of Grandma & Grandpa time, and will have them all to himself this weekend as John & I head out of town for a couple nights. I think Gma & Gpa are just as excited for Filson time as John & I are for alone time!!

Keeping Busy

Here are a few shots from Easter morning & the expanding belly shot that some of you have been asking for! Filson fared very well as the Easter Bunny found him & his Mimi sent him a very nice package full of new fun things. We spent the majority of the 3-day weekend on house projects, cleaning out the remaining stuff from the old house & cleaning our house getting ready for a week of company. Monday afternoon I hosted playgroup. I didn't think to get a single picture, as things get a little hectic with a bunch of little ones running around : ) Filson loved the company, although he was acting pretty tired during the entire afternoon. Come to find out, he had started coming down with a bug Sunday night & spent Monday night & all day Tuesday running a fever with a nasty cough. We had a pretty lazy Tuesday as he tried to recover. His spirits were lifted when Anna Leigh & Vada arrived Tuesday afternoon. He loved showing cute little 9 mth old Vada all his toys & making her smile. By Tuesday night his fever finally seemed to be gone & although he still has quite a nasty cough, he was in much greater spirits on Wednesday.

Egg Hunt

This morning Filson & I headed to the Easter Egg hunt/festival at Mayfaire. He caught on pretty quickly & picked up a few eggs for his basket. We gave the Easter Bunny a try, but this picture was the best I could snap. As soon as the lady set him on the bench, he was right back up! He had seen the EB on Thursday at story hour & was pretty indifferent to him, but today he just wasn't in to it. His favorite spots were where he was able to throw balls into a bucket & the ring toss. I think he had a great time & especially loved his new discovery of Smarties, which he scored about 3 packs of inside his easter eggs. If you check out the close up of him in the stroller, you'll probably also see his latest battle scars, a couple of good scratches around & under his nose. I'm not sure what the whole story is, but he came back from hanging with the boys yesterday looking a little rough! There is also a cute shot of John & him having a snack yesterday, they both have such big grins...they must be up to something : )

Sunday Funday

Much to his delight, Filson has been able to be outside playing most of today & yesterday. He went to a birthday party yesterday afternoon & then we had some of our friends over for a cookout last night. We took advantage of all the guys being over to finally get the slide portion of our swingset moved into place. With great help from the uncles & cousins, the swingset had been moved into our yard from our neighbor's at Thanksgiving, but it had never been moved into it's place & put in the ground so it could be used. After months of wondering why he had a slide in his backyard he couldn't touch, Filson is thrilled to be able to play on it & has probably been down the slide 100+ times since last night. Today John came across his old matchbox cars & smurfs collection & pulled them out for the little guy. It might as well be Christmas at our house, he's so excited with all the "new" toys!

Building Blocks

As expected, when Filson went to bed Sunday night he became congested & was up a few times in the night trying to get comfortable. He's had a constant runny nose & a little cough since then, most likely something he picked up from one of his adventures last week. So John hit the road Monday & the Little Guy & I pretty much remained homebodies this week resting up & trying not to spread our germs around. We went for a bike ride & played in the yard a lot at the beginning of the week, which is a good thing as it started raining yesterday & is expected to continue through Sunday. We did get out this morning to the library story hour, which Filson always enjoys. They always get up and dance at the end, which seems to be his favorite part. This morning I glanced over & noticed this tower he had built with his blocks. I grabbed the camera in time to see him sit back & admire his masterpiece ; )
