Halloween Party

Our playgroup costume party was yesterday & the boys were worn out when it was over! It was a lot of fun to see all the kids in costume & to just sit back & watch the absolute chaos. They all seemed to have a great time. Brooke was a saint for hosting it at her house. I can't imagine how long it took her to get her house back in order after we all left....and all the places she will be finding orange frosting from the cupcakes!

Scarlett is StylingElla, the Sweet Kitty Cat
Wish I had a better pic of William, his drawn-in 'stache totally made his costume. He looked hilarious.
Laurel & Filson, who discovered a hat he liked better & suddenly became a construction worker
This is only about 1/3 of the children, but still absolutely amazing that we could get this many lined up & seated at once.
Brotherly Love....
...that only lasted for a second!

Mimi's Visit

Mimi came from Charleston yesterday to spend the day with the boys & I. We had a great day & she treated us to many Halloween goodies! The boys have both picked up colds, so Filson had been napping for close to 4 hrs when she arrived and was rested up & ready to go. He even was able to go outside for awhile & show her his golf swing! The light-up pumpkin spinner, a big hit with both the boys
Ian had his first taste of food Sunday....

Feeling Warm & Fuzzy

Anna Leigh has an extremely talented friend, Renee, in Raleigh that I have been lucky enough to get to know. She hand-knits the most gorgeous things & recently sent this sweater down for little Ian. I can not wait to snuggle him up in it this winter. Thanks, Renee, it's beautiful....can you make one in my size?!?!?
Little Ian sporting his rock star tee (& a little drool). He's wishing he was in Arizona this weekend to catch his uncles in their JDR show!!
Ahhh...the ol' olive on the fingers trick!
This little munchkin LOVES his black olives!

Oyster Roast

We topped off our fun week of vacation by throwing our annual Oyster Roast last night at our house. The oyster season just opened, so everyone was anxious to dig in! Our friend also brought over some local blue crab, which in addition to an awesome bluegrass band & fabulous friends made for a great night. As an extra treat, Jay & Donna had driven out from Iowa to visit Anna, Pat & Vada, so they all were able to come join in the fun as well. We were so happy to see them & so appreciate all their help with the shin-dig! I am sure Anna Leigh will have a lot more pics of the night on her blog as well. I am especially anxious to see shots of Jay taking a spin in Tinney's side car! We had a blast & are paying for it with an extremely lazy Sunday. Our world will be turned upside down when we have to get back to reality tomorrow, but we made a lot of great memories this week!

It's too dark to tell, but here is Anna Leigh carrying Ian, Jay, & Donna holding Vada

Mt. Airy, NC

We pulled through Mt. Airy, NC on our way home to check out "Mayberry", home of Andy Griffith. It is a neat little town, but we only stayed for a short while, long enough to have lunch at Barney's Diner & see the Sheriff cruising around town.
