Bring on the Summer

Our friend, Robin, took this cute picture. We had perfect boating weather all weekend & made it out Sat & Sun. I love these days, as the boys have a blast & are exhausted by the end of the day!
This week brought us our first blueberries! We have 8 bushes, so should have plenty for the whole family if we can keep the birds & Filson away from them!

Brotherly Love

Filson asks to "hold" his brother a lot, which doesn't work out so well since Ian wants nothing holding him back right now
and he also loves to give him kisses
Look Ma, 1 hand!
He even briefly stood on his own today. I'm sure those first steps are coming soon.

We have had an action-packed couple of weeks at the Gaddum house, which also coincides with about a week of me forgetting my camera every time I left the house! Although I missed out on a lot of fun outings, I finally have pics from this week with some of our favorite people. While John spent the week in Chicago, Anna Leigh & Vada arrived on Tuesday to entertain the boys and I. We had an amazing week, taking the kids to the Children's Museum, beach, park, ice cream shop & shopping (Filson's personal favorite!). Vada will turn 2 next month & she is as cute as ever. The 3 amigos really enjoyed each other's company & AL & I managed to talk non-stop for the entire visit. It's probably a good thing the hubbies weren't here, as they wouldn't have been able to get a word in edgewise! We were sad to see them hit the road this afternoon, but know that Patrick will be excited to have his girls back & we are really looking forward to John returning tonight!

11 Months

The months seem to be passing quickly as we creep up on one year! He is now an expert crawler & is going up & down steps. He recently discovered our the main stairwell, so it's time to pull out the gates as it is his favorite place to sneak off to. He was an awesome camper on his first outing & was all over the beach & crawling through the tide pools when we took the boat out this weekend. It appears as though he will have no trouble keeping up with big brother.
Photo shoots & 11 mth olds really don't mix well. This is how most of my pics turned out.

He received this in the mail Thurs night before bed & about 36 hrs later we were finally able to get him out of it to put on his swim trunks. I think the Phillies have a new fan!

The Avett Brothers closed out the festival Sunday afternoon
We returned late last night from a great weekend at Merlefest. This year there were around 15 of us that camped together & about 6 kids under 5 running around, and it was a lot of fun for all of us. We drove up Friday morning & spent Saturday & Sunday at the festival. The kids were troopers, as it was 80+ both days. Needless to say, they all fell fast asleep each night. Filson napped for over 4 straight hours this afternoon, so he really had some catching up to do! John & I are wishing we could get in a nap like that!
