Halloween Fun

The kids anxiously waiting for a turn at the spider pinata
Our little buddy, Hank, in his adorable Farmer suit
Filson watching the pinata bashing
Gathering up the goods
Filson's not so sure about Dad getting his hands in his treat bucket!
Mama Bee & Fisherman Boo enjoying the band
Spiderman & his buddies Mermaid, Construction Man, Cowboy, & Cheerleader
All of us had a great time last night at our friends, The Parker's. The boys were worn out from playing with all the kids & Filson ended up with a fever by bedtime. He seems to be feeling back to normal today, probably worn out from the tough job of being Spiderman! We'll see if they can handle one more night of trick-or-treating in the 'hood tonight!

Trick-or-Treat at the Aquarium

The boys loved trick-or-treating at the Aquarium last night. Filson really enjoyed looking at all the fish & the fact that there were lots of spots to fill up the bags with candy was an added bonus. John made it back to town just in time to join us, so we had a great night with the boys!
Little Fisherman
This diver had just come after Filson, causing him to jump backwards into my arms! Guess he didn't realize the scuba diver monster wasn't able to break through the glass to get him.
The decorations were really impressive, even the tanks were full of spooky sightings.

He's pretty excited about being able to get messy in the kitchen

Party Time

The boys playing in their room today
Getting cozy...we'll see if they still like each other this much in 10 yrs : )
This looks like trouble! He looks tired after beginning his day at 4:30am Sun morning. Someone forgot to explain to him that you're supposed to sleep in after a night of partying (or at least let your parents sleep in)!
We had our annual oyster roast at our house Saturday night & it was so fun to get to spend the night with a bunch of friends. Filson had a blast and did not want the night to end as there were about 25 kids here for him to play with. The scene at these parties has definitely changed over the past few years ; ) Thankfully, Anna Leigh & Vada had come down for Raleigh for the night, so he still was able to wake up & party some more with Vada Sunday morning. The band was great & the weather was perfect, just cool enough to keep the nasty mosquitoes at a distance (we've had some monsters surrounding our house ever since the crazy rains last week). I hear the oysters were good too, although they didn't sound appetizing to the pregnant lady this year, so I never even made it to the table. I also never got around to taking a single picture, but we definitely have many great memories from the night. Thanks to Anna for driving down & helping out, it was so much fun to have her here!!

Scooter Boy

Ian taking his first scooter ride Saturday...

Thinking he's hot stuff....

And realizing he's about to experience his first wipeout....

Matchbox cars in the sand this afternoon

We were spoiled last week to have John in Wilmington every night. It was a nice change of pace around our house & today reality struck hard as he had to head back out on the road! Ian's week was a little rough as he spent most of it congested & coughing & covered in bites. We first noticed marks on his arm last Sunday & we continued to find more for the next 2-3 days. He had an appt. to get a shot on Thursday, so we had the dr. check him out to make sure he didn't have something contagious. They were just insect bites, which we were happy to discover, but still wonder what was eating our boys up. Filson's back had quite a few as well, but not like his little brother's. She did discover that Ian had an ear infection in one ear, so he didn't get his shot, but seemed to recover over the weekend & is hoping this week will treat him a little better!

Playing Outside

Our Little Lawn Mowers
Ol' Cooper-dog
Blowing Bubbles
It was 68 degrees. My body temp is always about 20 degrees colder than everyone else, so I guess my boys will suffer through me dressing them for a snowstorm on the nicest of days.
