Our Thanksgiving weekend went by way too fast! We had a great visit with Mimi, The Haldrup's, The Clark's, Uncle Wayne & Aunt Sally, Danny, Jason, Ryan, Lyne & Gavin. The weather was great & everyone was able to get outside to run around playing or to take go-kart rides. Our house is way too quiet today now that everyone has headed home. We are thankful for everyone making the trip here & can't wait to get together with everyone again!

Table Turkeys

Sugar comatose after finishing off a holiday cookie John brought home to the boys.
Starting in on the decorations
Ian learning a few turkey-decorating tips from his big brother
Thanksgiving Day centerpieces!
The boys made table turkeys at the children's museum Friday. Filson was really into it & Ian just kind of chilled & went at his own pace, mostly checking out what everyone around him was doing.
We have had a great few days with John home. He came back to town Wed & began vacation on Thursday. We have never had this much time to work on projects around the house, so we have both been going full speed since then. Although he'll probably tell you he's spent more time helping me out than getting things crossed off his to-do list! We have also worked in a date night out with our friends, a girl's night out for me & a guy's night for him this week, so it will be really hard to see this vacation end!
As of last night, the boys now have bunk beds in their room & Filson is so excited to have his bed up so high. He's probably climbed up & down the ladder 100 times since yesterday : ) We plan on moving Ian to the bottom bunk after Christmas. The bottom is a double, so I'm wondering if once the "newness" of the top bunk wears off, Filson will make his way into sharing the bottom bed with his little bro.
Tomorrow will be an exciting day as all of John's family comes to town. We are looking forward to spending a couple days with everyone & the boys can not wait to have their cousins here to play with!

Trip to Vada's

Anxiously awaiting the release of the balloon rocket
Filson found the twirling balloon & funny sound it made hilarious
Watching it twirl around in the air

A gorgeous day to be out on Vada's playground
Digging up treasures
Little Explorers
The Besties & Their Bellies
Anna Leigh has a 2 mth head start on me, but I'm catching up!
The boys & I road-tripped to Raleigh Thursday for a fun day with Anna Leigh & Vada Rosa (or Vades, both names Filson affectionately calls her!) It was a great day for the mamas to sit around & run our mouths while the kids burned off energy outside. As Filson laid down for his nap this afternoon, he said "I want to go to Vada's house again someday." I'm sure he won't have to wait long! We had a great visit, as always, and look forward to seeing them again soon!! Check out http://www.hammiedays.blogspot.com/ for some more cute pics of our day.

Touch-A-Truck Event

One of the helicopters, Filson's favorite of the day
Filson inside the big tire & Ian behind him checking out the truck
Ian thought he wanted to bounce with his brother (jumping in the blue vest), but sat frozen in this position the entire time!
They had fun playing games & climbing on a variety of big trucks & emergency vehicles!
