Ryan the Rockstar

Jake Dean & Ryan Roe @ The Mellow Mushroom in Wilmington
Jake, Brittany, Jay, John, Patrick & Ryan
Filson & Ian were home with a sitter & don't realize what they missed out on. But all their little buddies had a fun time & probably gave the guys their biggest dance crowd of the tour!

Ryan will die when he sees the title of this post, but he is on a little east coast tour with Jake Dean & we were lucky enough to get them in Wilmington last night. It was their 7th show in 7 days, so I'm sure they were beat, but they sounded awesome! They were able to crash with us last night & are looking forward to a night off tonight when we'll get to hang with him some more in Raleigh. They'll perform in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Morristown & Nashville before hitting the road back to Phoenix this weekend. It was so fun to see them perform in Wilmington & very nice to have Jay & Patrick cruise down from Raleigh to join us.

Ian

We took the boys to a model train show today & they each were given a new hat, which Ian put on immediately. We went out for lunch & then John took Filson to watch the ceremony of our neighbor boy receiving his Eagle Scout award. Ian & I came back to the house & he wanted to stay outside in the sunshine and dig. He was pretty happy to be outside & to be delaying his nap!

Meeting Baby Isla

Sweet Isla Jaye
Big Sister, Vada, watching her capsules grow into farm animals
She obviously thinks this is REALLY cool stuff!
Getting cuddles from IslaUntil she lets me know she is seriously hungry!
I was so excited to meet Isla Jaye Cunningham today!! Anna Leigh, Patrick & Vada welcomed her into the world on Sunday. She is such a sweet little girl with tons of beautiful hair. It was so fun to hang out for the day & to also get to visit with Jay & Donna. Can't wait to see her again in a couple weeks!

Fit for Fun

We hadn't been to Fit for Fun for quite awhile & met some friends there this morning. Filson was really into making things in the art room & Ian was driving a car most of the time we were there, which is exactly what Filson always wanted to do when he was Ian's age. We came home in time for lunch & I turned around to realize they had both crashed out on the drive home! Guess they had a good time!

Snow Days

Watching the snow fall
Boo reached for a drink after being stuck in the house for 3 days!
Cuddling up for an afternoon movie & milk
Out in our yard enjoying the sunshine on Sunday
It's been a quiet couple of weeks here. Last week began with the snowfall in Wilmington that slowed down the town & cancelled school for 3 days. We ended up with 4-5" at our house & it was really pretty watching it fall most of the day on Monday. We were definitely ready to get back into our activities & out of the house by Thursday, although the boys played remarkably well & got along while we were housebound. It's been unseasonably cold here this winter, but it warmed back up over the weekend & was nice enough to get outside without coats on.

Filson's got wheels

Santa brought Filson a set of wheels & he was able to try them out this weekend. He's wanted to ride every day since. Ian stands at the window saying "bike, bike" & insists on putting his helmet on when he gets outside as well. That little guy doesn't want to miss out on anything! I didn't capture too much of Filson riding in the video, but it's kind of funny to watch Boo roll across the driveway!

Happy New Year!

We moved Ian into a bed Thursday night and here he is crashed out in it. It's taken him awhile to get comfortable & fall asleep, but once he's out he's slept through til morning both nights. We'll see if it continues to be that easy! He's on the bottom bunk & Filson on the top, but last night we discovered Filson had crawled down & joined his brother before falling asleep.
Ian & Filson enjoying the weather at the Children's Museum New Year's Noon countdown yesterday. They had a lot of fun making streamers & shakers, throwing confetti & having a juice toast out of 'champagne' glasses at noon. I wish I had pictures, but the courtyard was absolutely packed & I wasn't able to juggle the camera & the boys!
