Getting Outdoors

Grant & John on a quick visit to check out the ocean last Sunday.
We have been outside playing & enjoying the weather as much as possible. Grant is big enough to want in on all the action now & loves to be pushed around in his red car & watch his brothers zoom past on their scooters.Tuesday I took the boys to the new park to meet a friend & we decided to take scooters & do the loop around the lake first. It was a good workout for their little legs! You'll notice "Flat Hannah" in some of our pictures. Our friend in Iowa sent her to us & we had a fun time showing Flat Hannah around Wilmington. We're putting together a diary & pictures of our week with her to send back to Hannah's 2nd grade class.
John was traveling this week, but was offered 2 tickets to a Carolina Hurricanes game in Raleigh. We thought Filson would enjoy going, so I drove the boys up Wednesday afternoon to meet up with him. John & Filson had a lot of fun at the game & Ian, Grant & I got to have fun hanging out at the Cunningham's house.
Thursday morning, the boys & I met Anna Leigh & her girls at Pullen Park near downtown Raleigh. They had renovated the park since our last visit & it is such a great place to hang out. They have a train, boats, carousel, and really cool playground equipment. The boys always have fun spending time with Vada & Isla!
Too small for the rides for now, but before long they'll be keeping up with the big kids.

Filson's been able to keep his little brothers at bay long enough to get some neat towers built this week. They don't last long before someone sends them tumbling down!
Enjoying being outside this weekend
Ian's getting the hang of his pedal-less bike & it's currently his transportation of choice
The yard is colorful as the azaleas are beginning to bloom
Grant looked like he had a clown face drawn on after a lunch of mac & cheese

Birthday Boy

Look who's 1!
That looks like a warning face to his brothers to steer clear of his cool new toys : )
Getting a lick off the candle before he digs into his own big piece
All that sugar kicking in!Their cousin very generously passed on her iTouch to them at Christmas (thanks, JuJuB!!) and they LOVE getting to play it. I'm sure they know more about the games than I do!
A Sunday afternoon dip in the hot tub.

We were excited to have Mimi come from Charleston Saturday morning to spend Grant's birthday with us! The boys played outside much of the day, helped Grant open gifts in the afternoon, and then we had friends over for dinner. It was a great weekend & we had a lot of fun with Mimi & were sad to see her head home today!

12 Months

He still has a lopsided smile!
Grant's 1 month shot with sock monkey

Saturday Grant hit the big ONE! What a quick year that was!! He is 19lbs & 29.5" & a happy little guy. He stands on his feet & thinks about walking, but hasn't taken that first step yet. Just like the other boys in our house, he loves to be outside or pushing cars around on the floor. It's fun to see the boys all get bigger & watch them interact, but definitely bittersweet to be saying goodbye to the baby stage at our house : ) It's been a fun & eventful year & we can't imagine life without our sweet little Boo-G!

The Boys

I turned Grant's car seat around to face forward last week & we now have 3 little monkey's to look at in the back seat. They are jammed in there & there's hardly ever a dull moment when we're in the car.
Planned to snap a picture of the 3 of them before we headed out the door this morning, but I guess 'lil Boo-G wasn't having any of it!
Whether it's blocks, legos, or racetracks, Filson always likes to be building something.

Brotherly Love

Grant looks unsure of whether to be excited or scared of this joy ride!
Everyone could use a big brother that gives out back rubs!
Grant has been under the weather, but hopefully will get some rest tonight & be feeling better soon. After a rough morning at the doctor's office, Filson wanted to make him feel better by rubbing his back. Ian decided he wanted in on the action, so Filson was making both his brothers very happy : )
