Hard to believe it's been almost 3 weeks since my post about his new shoes. We have had a very memorable couple of weeks and he has had a chance to wear in those shoes while traveling halfway across the country. Upon receiving the unexpected news that my Grandma Roe has lung cancer which has quickly spread, Filson & I took off on Aug 8 for a 2 week trip to Iowa to visit my family and bring some cheer to Grandma. We are very lucky to have such great family & friends in Iowa & it's always so fun to be there. Filson got to play with his grandparents and both great-grandmas, as well as many of my cousins, aunts, uncles & even some of my parents' cousins & aunts & uncles. Needless to say, he was never in need of attention!! The best part was seeing the smile he brought to Grandma Roe's face each day.

Glad to hear your trip went well. I hope Grandma Roe is doing okay, she has been in my thoughts and prayers. Hard to believe how big Filson is getting! I bet he missed his Daddy.
So sorry to hear about your Grandma Roe. I would say that you brought the best comfort there is to her by being able to spend time with her adorable great-grandson and her wonderful granddaughter! I am so glad that you had such a nice time during your visit "home" to Iowa!
great photos, britt. it was wonderful to see you and filson while you were in IA! too bad it was under such circumstances, but i know grandma bea loved every single minute of your time there. glad you made it home safe and sound!

Was so good to see you and Filson. Just wish John could of come too. But your visit was priceless for Bea. She's such a sweet lady. Know she loved having the 2 of you here.
