Filson tried out the Little Explorers class at Halyburton Park this week. They read a story, made a craft and went on a nature hike in search of "bugs", the theme for the week. He thought it was great & an added bonus that before class began they could check out the live snakes, turtles & fish in the lobby area.
Of course, both the boys would prefer to spend their entire days playing outside, so I have had something planned for us every day to try & divert their attention from the ridiculous humidity & heat we have had. My favorite is free movie day, where they show 2 kid movies 3 days a week at our theater. So far I've timed it where Ian has fallen asleep once the show starts & his big brother is so obsessed with tv that he does not move a muscle once his bottom hits the movie seat. A nice relaxing break in the a/c for the mamas & all the Regal Cinemas across the nation do this during the summer, so check it out if you have one in your town.
We're looking forward to the upcoming 3 day weekend! It will be nice to have John home for an extra day & so far it's looking like great boat weather! Hope you all have a fun one!
