Feeding the Ducks

We enjoyed the nice weather this morning at a friend's house flying kites, riding bikes & feeding the ducks at their neighborhood pond. They have 2 boys about the same age as ours & are expecting a third this summer.
The boys had a lot of fun together & worked up an appetite after the big morning!
I received this small backpack as part of a baby gift from a friend a couple weeks ago & Ian thought it worked pretty well for him! The boys put on backpacks Sat. morning & hardly took them off the rest of the weekend.

Always up to Something

Hundreds of toys to play with or watching Sesame Street on TV with his brother & he chooses my mascara for his entertainment while I shower. Guess I'll have to start locking the door, although this one would probably figure out how to pick the lock!! I'm sure taking pictures probably only encouraged this behavior, but I couldn't pass it up!

The Watson Girls

Brittany, Vada, Hannah, Haydn, Sara, Isla, Anna Leigh
Anna Leigh, Sara, Brittany (& Peanut, who is getting bigger by the day)
....we're missing you, Kay-kay!
Hannah, who is an excellent mini-mom, holding her new cousin Isla
The Cunningham's....now a cute family of 4!

I had another great excuse to road trip to Raleigh today as Sara & her girls had flown out from Iowa for the weekend. It was great catching up with Sara & fun to see the girls, they have grown so much & are such good helpers with their little cousins. We had a delicious meal at Pat's deli & then spent the afternoon hanging out at the Cunningham's new casa. They moved in this weekend & the place looks great!!

A Long Week

Last Saturday was a rainy day, so John rented Toy Story 3 for the boys & popped them popcorn. Well, the movie was actually for Filson, as Ian has never sat still in front of the tv for more than 5 minutes for anything, but Ian sure did enjoy the popcorn.
The aftermath of an ice cream sandwich last weekend!
Filson ready to head to the Valentine Party yesterday with some of the treats he helped put together for his friends.
With a treat table like this, you can tell while it was next to impossible to keep a 3 yr old away from all the sugar!
Carter & Filson
Ian having fun at the party

Like many other households, the stomach bug visited us Monday night, which has made for a loooong week! Filson & John both became sick within an hour of each other, so we originally thought they had food poisoning. Unfortunately, Filson's bug hung around until Friday, so we knew it wasn't from food. Luckily, he was in great spirits & felt well most of the time, but just couldn't keep anything down. Yesterday we realized a lot of friends from a birthday party we went to on Sunday came down with the same thing, including the sweet lst Birthday Boy. We're just incredibly lucky that Ian & I somehow managed to escape it & hope all our friends are recovering as well. Filson was finally recovering yesterday, although after an afternoon of running around with his buddies & way too much sugar at the party, he ended up sick last night. Today he'll get some rest & and a better diet & hopefully finally get this out of his system. We are all more than ready for a little more sleep at night around here!

Fun in Raleigh

John, Filson, Ian & Vada in the hot tub Monday night
Look at all that gorgeous hair on 2 week old Isla!
John, Filson, Ian & Patrick
Ryan meeting baby Isla
Playing trains at the Children's Museum Tuesday morning
Flashing a cheesy smile next to all the colorful fish
Ian checking out the view from the top of the Pirate Ship
Making a splash
When asked what his favorite part of the museum was, he immediately said "the race cars". I think he put his car in the race about 50 times & probably would have stayed right there all day!
Seeing how to make new colors
Both the boys getting in some soccer action
This fitness exhibit was really neat & I loved this mini-hockey rink. Ian is just observing, but Filson made a few goals.
Catching a wave
Filson & Uncle Pups in the hot tub
Little Boo sneaking some ice cubes
Fun in the swimming pool

John happened to be working in Raleigh this week & Ryan was heading there Monday, so the boys & I were able to go stay with John & spend some more time with "Uncle Pups", who was able to spend Monday night with us. Jay & Donna also happened to still be staying with the Cunningham's, so it was a great couple days of visiting with everyone. Tuesday morning the boys & I spent time at the Raleigh Children's Museum. After a night of no sleep, the boys should have been walking zombies, but they found plenty of energy to enjoy themselves. That afternoon Ryan took them back to the pool for another swim. We then headed over to Patrick & Anna's where we met up with John. We saw all the progress they've made on the new casa. It looks great & won't be much longer until they'll be moving in! We sent Ryan off to finish off the last leg of his "tour" & had a great dinner at the Cunningham's spending some time with the Watson's before they headed back to the midwest the next morning. The boys had a blast with Vada & showered Isla with plenty of attention as well. It was a fun couple of days with family & friends we wish we saw more often!
