Drive Real, Real Slow

Ahhhh.....what's not to love about the pace of life on Ocracoke? We decided Friday morning to take our good friends, John D & Robin, up on the offer to come crash with them for the weekend. They rented an adorable house for the week and so graciously invited us to come join them. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the kids had a lot of fun together & were very well behaved. The parents had a lot of fun, too!! The island is as cute as ever & was extremely active for this time of year. We visited the lighthouse Saturday, walked around the village, relaxed on the deck & had dinner at the Back Porch....where we held our wedding reception just 4 years ago. We had a beautiful ferry ride yesterday afternoon & then cruised through Beaufort for dinner on our way home. The boys were asleep when we pulled in the drive & stayed that way until this morning, worn out from all the fun.

Filson was slightly more interested in his pretzel snacks than he was in the lighthouse!

What a fun sleepover!
Ian is currently much more of a morning person than his big brother!
